Crispine Ngena
Democratic Republic of the Congo
As a feminist and environmental activist in Africa, Crispine Ngena (She/Her) works with women, young girls, and indigenous communities to build egalitarian communities for a better future, challenge existing harmful cultural norms, and practices and replacing them with new ones for change. Her simple ask? Close the sustainable development gap.
In her words
I consider gender and climate justice my battle. To inform women about their rights, involve them in decisions on land access, environmental conservation and climate change, that’s my fight as a young eco-feminist in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.Crispine NgenaNational Coordinator at Actions pour la Conservation de la Nature et le Développement Communautaire (ACNDC), DRC
An egalitarian society must include climate justice too. We need to assure environmental protection for everyone and involve all of us at national level on the fight against climate change.Crispine NgenaNational Coordinator at Actions pour la Conservation de la Nature et le Développement Communautaire (ACNDC), DRC
I would like to say to all the activists, especially new ones, that through all the struggles, insecurities and few resources, it only takes passion. Passion of reaching equality can accomplish everything.Crispine NgenaNational Coordinator at Actions pour la Conservation de la Nature et le Développement Communautaire (ACNDC), DRC
Feminism means...
“Feminism for me is a movement of women and men who fight to destroy the notion of the power, which is traditionally attached to men, giving women and girls equal access to leadership.” - Crispine Ngena
