Lauri Alvarez

Philanthropy Manager
Lauri (she/her/hers) is the Philanthropy Manager at Global Fund for Women. She is passionate about how education can be a tool of empowerment for young women and girls.
Most recently she managed the individual giving councils at the Brookings Institution. Prior to that, she was at Latin America Working Group a grassroots advocacy organization where she both fundraised and did programmatic work on Mexico and Central America migration. Lauri was a Princeton in Latin America fellow (2018-2019) at FUNDAL in Guatemala where she laid the foundation for their international fundraising program.

Lauri received her BA in International Studies from American University with a focus on international development in Latin America. In her free time she enjoys reading, playing kickball, picnicking on the National Mall, and walks with her dog Lulu.
