Irena Ehrlich

Irena Ehrlich (she/her/hers) is the Director, Grants Management at Global Fund for Women.

Irena is committed to human rights work that prioritizes the expertise of marginalized communities. She has focused on integrating gender justice into international development and global health programs, working across advocacy, policy, grantmaking, and communications to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights, the global movement for universal healthcare, and rights for refugees and immigrants.

Prior to joining Global Fund for Women, Irena served as the Communications and Fundraising Manager for Anjali House, a grassroots Cambodian nonprofit that supports vulnerable youth and their communities. She previously worked at Global Health Strategies, where she drove campaigns centered on gender equity and access to quality healthcare. Irena’s grant management experience in Siem Reap and her work on a Universal Healthcare Day micro-grant program fostered her dedication to trust-based strategic grantmaking.

Irena earned a BA in History and a minor in Human Rights from the University of Chicago, where she concentrated on post-colonial theory. Born and raised in New York City, Irena speaks English and French and loves to hike, wander around museums, and cook for family and friends.
