Anja Tranovich
Anja Tranovich [she/her/hers] is the Director of Movement Experience at Global Fund for Women.
Anja has over 10 years of experience crafting communications for nonprofits, international media companies, and social enterprises working in human rights and gender justice. She is passionate about stories that move audiences and inspire action.
Prior to working with Global Fund for Women, she helmed the communications department at Dalberg, a social impact firm. She has also worked for ACDI/VOCA, an NGO working with smallholder farmers around the world. Previously she led editorial partnerships and communications at a foundation creating human rights journalism with ABC News, The Global Post, and The New York Times. She has lived and worked in West Africa and Peru, where she was an analyst for Pro Mujer.
In her previous career as a journalist, she reported on international women’s movements and development topics from the United Nations for two news wires. She also worked on a radio documentary on human rights for NPR and wrote for The Nation, The Guardian, and many other outlets.
She has a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and a B.A. from New York University.
