Global Fund for Women UK
We work to ensure every woman and girl is strong, safe, powerful, and heard. No exceptions.
Galvanised by the growing global crisis facing women and girls, Global Fund for Women UK was fully established in 2018. Together with our US sister organisation, Global Fund for Women, we champion the human rights of women. We use our assets and resources to find, fund, and amplify the courageous work of women and girls who are building social movements, challenging the status quo, and creating transformational change.
What We Do:
- Make grants - by directing funding to women-led local organisations, we’re nimble, knowledgeable and able to get funding to where it will make the biggest difference.
- Accelerate change – by supporting women led organisations we’re empowering communities of women and girls to drive changes in attitudes, policies, and practices, which is the route to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and systemic change.
- Amplify issues - by using our voice, reach and influence we’re able to shine a light on issues, mobilise resources, and ensure that women’s and girls’ voices are no longer silenced but become part of the solution.
Currently a small team in the UK, we are supported by Global Fund for Women in the U.S. but led by our own board of dedicated trustees and one full time member of staff.
