Two Global Fund Grantees Among 2008 Gruber Women’s Prize Recipients
Two of the three recipients of this year’s Gruber Women’s Prize are members of the Global Fund Network. Yanar Mohammed from Iraq, an advisor for the MENA region and Nadera Shalhoub Kevorkian from Mada al-Carmel, a grantee group based in Israel, are among this year’s recipients. The third winner who will share the $500,000 prize is Sapana Pradhan Malla from Nepal. The Women’s Rights Prize ceremony will take place on November 11 at Columbia Law school, New York. Read More

Queer Sarajevo Festival Responds To Hate Speeches, Assaults, and Threats
In response to insulting misrepresentation and open hate speeches towards the upcoming first Queer Sarajevo Festival, the organizers of the festival and also a Global Fund grantee, Organization Q, released a statement clarifying the festival's importance to the LGBTIQ community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Organization Q
raises awareness about the human rights of LGBTIQ persons in Bosnia and
Herzegovina (BiH), through public events, festivals, and street
actions. In their statement, the group clarifies the festival's
